ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mary Mauch was raised in the small town of Fredonia, Wisconsin. Her parents promoted a love of history and education. Persevering despite her bout with rheumatic fever, Mary skipped sixth grade, learning to accept challenging circumstances. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Mary taught high school and junior high for a decade; her favorite subject was history. She initiated an interscholastic girls’ basketball program. Mary attained graduate credits equivalent to a master’s degree. She married Robert, a love at first sight story. Mary chose the joy of full-time motherhood, raising her four children. Currently, she voluntarily teaches in a log-cabin school and at her parish. Making precious memories with her grandchildren is currently her most cherished preoccupation. Mary enjoys traveling, swimming, playing piano, and theatre. She has treasured the last eight years reliving momentous historical moments through the correspondence of Abigail Adams. Mary feels grateful for the privilege of sharing her favorite patriot’s adventure.
